Classical Five Element Acupuncture is a gentle yet powerful approach to health that has withstood the test of centuries. It has been proven effective for more than 5000 years and is recognized by The World Health Organization and the National Institutes of Health as beneficial for many conditions. It treats not only the physical symptoms of discomfort and disease, but uncovers and heals the emotional and mental distress that often is the root cause of physical illness and a sense of wellness.

Chi, life force, flows through channels, or meridians within the human body. When this energy is obstructed, disease and often, pain sets in. Acupuncture helps to remove the obstruction and restore harmony and balance to the natural flow of chi. Once the energy is balanced, maintaining it results in preventive healthcare.

Acupuncture Treatments benefit individuals that are in generally good health by maintaining and /or increasing their vital energy and quality of life. It is especially advisable to balance the flow of chi in each season: Spring, Summer, Late Summer, Fall and Winter.

  • Five Element Acupuncture is used in conjunction with Western medicine and other modalities to promote recuperation from surgeries, injuries and other conditions. The holistic nature of acupuncture can treat diseases that have not responded to other forms of treatments, or symptoms that cannot be explained by conventional medicine.

Acupuncture needles used in our offices are sterile, disposable, and discarded after each use. Needles are slender as a human hair.

Do the needles hurt? The insertion of Acupuncture needles is accompanied by minimal discomfort or tingling sensation which dissipates in seconds after each needle is removed. This sensation is not only common but desirable because it indicates the presence of chi.

How many needles are used and where they are placed depends on your individual needs. Classical Five Element Acupuncture calls for using as few needles as possible. Placement of needles may be quite remote from the site of your ache or pain.

Classical Five Element Acupuncture reaches the body, mind and spirit. Nature and the cycle of the seasons are the basis of the Five Element system. The assessment of the individual’s relationship to their own inner nature as well as to their surrounding world is part of the diagnosis discussed during the initial interview, which reviews a comprehensive health history of the individual. This is why treatment is tailored to each person. Treatment awakens the healing capacity within each of us, allowing us to improve our quality of life.
